Friendlies 2026
Friendly matches against local clubs are played throughout the summer season, at home and away.
-
Entry is open to all club members, regardless of ability - the objective is to take part in a friendly game.
-
The format of the match may be fours or triples - it all depends on the numbers wishing to take part. And we've been known to lend or borrow players to/from the opposition to balance the teams.
-
Our home matches start with a Spider game ...
-
There is a match fee - to cover the costs of providing teas at home games.
-
There will be a raffle.
The fixtures for 2026 are shown below:
Sign-up sheets for each match will be posted in the Clubhouse a few weeks prior to the fixture.

The Spider Game
Just a bit of fun to break the ice - open to all who wish to have a go:
-
The 'spider' is placed in the centre of the green.
-
Upon the appointed signal, each player bowls one wood from the edge of the green (one foot in the ditch) - all the bowls are in play at the same time.
-
The bowl closest to the spider once all the bowls have come to rest is declared the winner.
Entries are £1 and there is a prize.
Lilleshall (home) - 16th May 2026
We didn't let the rather drizzly weather dampen our spirits when we hosted Lilleshall. It was a great friendly match - four rinks of triples. While we don't tend to focus too much on the results, it was a well engineered and honourable draw on shots.
Both clubs look forward to a rematch in Lilleshall next season.
Sign-up - Meifod (away) - 10th August 2026

Llansantffraid
Llansantffraid called off our friendly game scheduled for Monday, 1st June because that didn't have sufficient numbers signed-up to play. This date has been removed from the calendar.
We are currently due to play Llansantffraid only once per season - home one year and away the next. Hopefully, we will be able to resume our friendly series next season.
Neuadd Bridge
Sadly, Neuadd Bridge have been forced to cancel our friendly games with them scheduled for Saturday, 18th June and Saturday, 18th July. These dates have been removed from the calendar.
Hopefully, we will be able to resume our friendly matches with Neuadd Bridge next season.
St Michael's
St Michael's are struggling for numbers this year and have been forced to cancel our friendly games with them scheduled for Saturday, 30th May and Saturday, 8th August. These dates have been removed from the calendar.
Sadly, they fear that the club may be forced to close at the end of the season - we hope that this does not materialise and we will be able to resume our friendly matches with St Michael's next season.
