In-House Competitions 2025

Matches are played on  weekends throughout the summer, with finals played towards the end of the season.

Note:

  1. Competitions are open to all full members.

  2. Entry forms will be on the notice board approx. 6 weeks before competition date.

  3. Entries via written names on entry form or via the website. Entries via email may be accepted as a last resort.

  4. Draw will take place 7-10 days prior to competition and be posted on the notice board and website.

  5. Ends played may vary depending on weather and numbers entering.

  6. Some preliminary rounds may be needed prior to the competition date.

  7. In the event of someone reaching the final and then being unavailable due to health reasons etc, the beaten semi-finalist will take their place. (Pairs and Triples – a lot will be drawn from the beaten semi-finalists).

Dates are in the calendar - matches are scheduled to be played on the Saturday; a backup date, typically the Sunday following, is reserved against the chance of inclement weather. Match start times and durations shown in the calendar will be adjusted once we know the numbers of entrants.

This year we are asking for a competition entrance fee of £1.00 to contribute to club funds. In addition, we invite entrants to contribute to the Club supported charity for 2025 - an optional sum of £1.00 is suggested. Monies will be collected on the day of the competition.

The names of this year's winners will join those from previous seasons on the Roll of Honour.

The morning session will be played on a "pool basis". This year we have 16 entrants so 4 pools of 4 players with everyone playing 3 games of 5 ends. If the scores are tied after five ends, a sixth end will be played to achieve a result. Thus, each will play 15 -18 ends during the morning.

Scoring will be straight in, with 1 point for a win  - there will be no drawn games. The top two in each pool will advance to the afternoon session. Position within the pool will be determined by points scored and shot aggregate as usual. In the event of a tie in any pool, an extra end will be played between the players concerned.

The afternoon session will be on a knockout basis. Matches are played over 12 ends, scoring 1 on the first two ends.

Tea & coffee will be available during the lunch break. Do bring your own lunch and make a day
of it even if you don't make it through the morning round into the afternoon.

The draw for the morning session as shown below:

The order of games for the morning session is shown below. Would a member of the pool please act as marker for the pair that are playing and would the 'spare' player please ensure that the results of earlier games are recorded correctly.
