MBA Men's League 2025
The Montgomeryshire Bowling Association (MBA) Men's League is played on Thursday evenings. Matches start at 18:30 and run from 8th May until 17th July 2025. This league 'evolves' into the "Super 14" for the second part of the season.
For 2025 we played in MBA Division 2.
The league is played by club teams comprising 4 rinks of fours - 16 competitors per club. This year matches will be played over 2 trial ends plus 18 ends.

The club have asked that we each contribute £1 per match we play to help cover the county affiliation fees. Please hand to your skip before the start of play.

Competition Rules and Conventions
The rules of the competition are published on the MBA website and, for ease of reference, are copied here: MBA Competition Rules 2025. These rules are laid down by the MBA.
In addition, there are a number of unwritten 'conventions' observed during MBA League games. I've provided a note of these here for the benefit of those 'new' to the competition: Etiquette & Conventions.
Squad and Pool
We currently have 22 club members that have signed up to play in this seasons MBA league matches. These players are registered with the MBA and affiliation fees paid. We have more signed up for the Pool for an occasional game than we have in the Squad of regular players. Nonetheless, we should be able to field a full team of 16 players from the 22 names available ... hopefully ... 🤞
Please let me know of any dates that you will NOT be available to play ...
In the event that we are unable to field a full team, we may field an understrength team and accept the points deduction that arises but we will be able to compete and enjoy bowling in the county league.
If you would like to join our merry band please let me (Philip) know. Similarly, if you wish to switch between the Squad and the Pool.

League Table
MBA League Cup
In addition to the League, a subset of the teams from both Division 1 and Division 2 come together in the MBA League Cup knockout competition.
Guilsfield were drawn against Llanidloes in the first round of the League Cup to be played at Llanidloes on Saturday, 31st May 2025. Our campaign then went no further! 😉
The semi-finals were to be played on 7th June 2025 with the final to be played at Welshpool BC on 2nd August 2025. Dates are in the calendar.
